While many businesses have had to reduce their workforces because of COVID-19 restrictions, there are some industries which are in need of more staff, with different skills across a range of opportunities.

The Australian Government’s Jobs Hub offers online search tools that may help you to find jobs and career pathways in different industries which may suit your skills and abilities. It also enables you to search for jobs in your local area, and provide you the contact details of businesses and organisations with jobs available.

Support for businesses

The Australian Government is providing a JobKeeper Payment to eligible employers to remain connected to their employees and to quickly re-activate their operations during economic recovery.

Support for businesses employing apprentices or trainees

The Australian Government is supporting business to manage cash flow challenges and to keep apprentices and trainees employed through a new Supporting Apprentices and Trainees wage subsidy.

A 50 per cent subsidy for wages paid to apprentices is available to small businesses, including those using a Group Training Organisation, to help retain existing apprentices and trainees.
